Google pixel 2 XL certified IP 67 for dust and water resistance so it can survive drowning under water. Unfortunately, some flagship-level features like the Wireless Charging and HDR display are misses out on the phone.
Google pixel 2 XL (and Pixel 2) is Google's first in-house processor (with help from Intel), known as Visual Core, a dedicated image processor. It's now inactive and these phones will become active after receiving the upcoming Android 8.1 update. The main purpose of the visual cores is to allow third-party applications to take advantage of HDR image capture and processing, which is currently only available in pixel camera applications.
Google's power is always in the software and the newest ships to showcase Google pixel 2 XL. It runs the Vanilla Android 8.0 Out of the Box but there are a few new additions to Home screen, Lock Screen and Launcher. Thanks to the PULLED panel, the Google pixel 2 XL has always been an on-display feature that shows you time, date and unread notifications. However, you cannot interact with the notifications on the lock screen on Samsung's current phone.
Pixel 2 XL features
There is a Now Playing feature that automatically recognizes a song playing in the background and will show you its title and artist under the screen. The Google pixel 2 XL has a database of locally stored songs, which does not require an active internet connection, which changes by region and updated on a weekly basis. We tried this with the popular English and Hindi tracks and it worked well in most cases, though it did not recognize some new Bollywood tracks and failed where there was too much background thunder. Overall, it seems to be an excellent feature, but it is not replaced for dedicated applications like Shazam or SoundHound, especially when dealing with popular tracks.
At the top of the home screen, there is a new 'at-a-glance' area that gives you time, weather and other details like upcoming appointments from your calendar.
It cannot be removed from the home screen. So far, information is showing only from your Google Calendar app and traffic updates, but Google will link it to more apps in the coming months. The Quick Search bar has been moved downward, where it is closer to your organs. Homescreen keeps it as you swipe across, and both cannot be removed. When we started it,
specs and Full specifications and features
Google Assistant works as expected, and the right-handed card takes you to Google Now screen with relevant news relevant to the size of the card. Includes Google Advanced Suite, Plus Allo and Duo. The interface is slick and quick but it can sometimes feel a bit too barebones. For example, after you receive it once, a screenshot annotation is not supported as something fundamental. The settings application has changed quite a bit, and now, the same functions are grouped together. Some options are hidden from view so the app will give an easy look. Supported gestures include a double-press of the power button and a double flick of the wrist from the camera app to switch the camera and the camera back to the camera app. There is a new live wallpaper named Living Universe which looks really great.
The pixel 2 XL is confidential from Google Lens's initial beta, it's a new feature that uses machine learning to detect objects, street addresses, phone numbers, etc., from the photos you've taken and gives you more information about them. Currently, this feature can be found in the Photos app in pixel 2 and Google pixel 2 XL,
But it will be added to the camera application and to the assistant within the coming month. For a beta product, it works decently well. When you are browsing through your photos, you will notice the lens icon just before the delete icon. This tapping will bring a small window where the lens will show its best guess in the picture.
