The Xiaomi Mi CC9 series has gone official today in China. The CC9, CC9e and CC9 Meitu Custom Edition are the first phones born through Xiaomi’s collaboration with its acquired firm named Meitu. 

The latter is well-known for its selfie beautification apps and selfie-focused phones. The Mi CC9 series boasts trendy appeal and come with attractive specs and pricing. The CC9 Meitu Custom Edition is a premium phone whose camera capabilities are powered by Meitu’s imaging algorithms.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e come with gradient colored curved 3D glass panels. The Mi CC9 features a 6.39-inch full HD+ resolution AMOLED display with dot notch. The Mi CC9e that is packed with inferior specs comes with a dot notch enabled 6.08-inch screen AMOLED display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels. 

They are also equipped with features like 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Always-On Display, and latest 7th-generation in-display fingerprint sensors.

The Snapdragon 710 chipset is present under the hood of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 smartphone. The SoC is coupled with up to 6 GB of RAM and it features up to 128 GB of storage. 

The Xiaomi Mi CC9e becomes the first phone ever to be fueled by 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 665 that tags along Adreno 610 GPU. The CC9 and CC9e run on MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS.

 There is Game Turbo 2.0 for accelerated graphics performance for enhanced gaming experience.

The Mi CC9 and CC9e smartphones have LED flash enabled triple camera setups on their rear. It includes 48-megapixel Sony lens with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 120-degree field-of-view and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. 

The rear cameras support features like handheld super night mode, portrait mode bokeh, panorama, professional, HDR, AI beauty, AI scene recognition and 960fps slow-motion video recording.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e are both fitted with 32-megapixel selfie snappers. It can shoot better selfie shots in low-light conditions as it can combine four pixels in one large-sized pixel. 

Using Mimoji, users can create animated characters from themselves by selecting from 165 kinds of hairstyles, faces, and accessories. Mimoji can be applied to still photos and videos.

These handsets house 4,030mAh batteries that carry support for 18W fast charging. The usual connectivity features like dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, v5.0 Bluetooth, GPS, NFC (not available on CC9e), IR blaster, USB-C and 3.5mm headphone socket are also available on the CC9 series of smartphones. The CC9 and CC9e phones are also equipped with face to unlock feature.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition that comes in a unique color of bears the same specs as the Mi CC9 smartphone. However, it comes in a single model that includes 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. 

Also, the triple cameras and the selfie snapper of the Custom Edition are powered by Meizu's imaging technology for capturing stunning portrait shots even in low-light conditions. A customized version of MIUI 10 + Android 9 Pie is available on the device.

The smartphone bears a “meitu” branding on its rear. Compared to Mi CC9 and CC9e phones that come in white colored retail box with colorful CC logo, the Custom Edition will be available in a big blue colored packaged with small CC logo on it. Dubbed the VIVO Y12, the new entrant is already featured on Amazon India where it will start selling from June 21. The announcement is coming just weeks ahead of the planned launch of the VIVO Z1 Pro.

The device is priced at Rs 12,490 for the lone variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with the option to get up to Rs 9,350 off on exchange and opt for EMI options starting at Rs 588. Specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9X have leaked online. According to a post on Chinese microblogging website Weibo, the smartphone may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor and may pack 6GB of RAM.

As per the leak, the handset will offer a triple-lens camera set up at the back. The device will boast of 48-megapixel primary rear camera with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. 

Further, the Mi 9X is said to come with a 6.4-inch full HD AMOLED display. The phone will also feature a waterdrop notch on the top. For selfies, it is expected to sport a 32-megapixel camera at the front. As stated above, the device will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. This is the same processor that powers the Redmi Note 7 Pro. 

Xiaomi Mi 9X will run the company’s own MIUI based on Android 9 Pie operating system. The smartphone will house a 3,300mAh battery and will come with 18W fast charging support. For security, the handset will offer the under-display fingerprint sensor.

 May get launched in April As for the pricing is concerned, the smartphone may be priced at CNY 1,699. This roughly translates to Rs 17,500. The Weibo leak also suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 9X may be launched in early April in home country China. Having said that there is no information as to whether the phone will be coming to the Indian mobile market or not. 

The Chinese company earlier launched Mi9 in China last month along with Mi 9 SE and Mi 9 Explorer Edition. The Mi 9 smartphone features 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED full HD+ display and is backed by 3,500mAh battery.

Update, May 30, 2019 (3:28AM ET): Xiaomi has now confirmed a name for its Mi 9 variant, revealing that it will indeed be called the Xiaomi Mi 9T. And it’s not the first time we’ve heard this name pop up in recent days.

A Polish blog reported this week that the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro would be called Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro when it launches there. Furthermore, a Russian news outlet has also claimed that the Redmi flagships would adopt the Mi 9T names when it launched in that market.

Original article, May 29, 2019 (5:42AM ET): Xiaomi’s first phones with a pop-up selfie camera, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, were announced yesterday. But the company has teased another device with a pop-up shooter.

Xiaomi posted an image on Twitter, showing a phone without a notch along with the hashtag “#PopUpInStyle.” The message also confirmed that this is a Mi 9 variant, and could either be the Mi 9K, Mi 9I, or Mi 9T.

It’s unclear whether this will literally be the Mi 9 with a pop-up selfie camera or if this is more like a Redmi K20 series phone with the Mi 9’s design. The Xiaomi Mi 9 design differs from the Redmi K20 series by shifting the rear camera housing to the side of the device, while also offering a different gradient color scheme.

The Mi 9 also offers a few perks compared to the Redmi K20 series, such as wireless charging, and higher resolution telephoto and ultra-wide cameras. However, the K20 phones offer a much bigger battery (4,000mAh versus 3,300mAh), 256GB storage option, and a 3.5mm port.

It is now confirmed. Very much expected Xiaomi Mi 9T which will soon hit some markets, actually Redmi K20 by another name. This is confirmed by a few retail retailers for Mi 9T. One of the pictures in China's Weibo shows that the second film was shared by a technology survey from Dubai. This offer will be sold in Dubai and possibly UAE in Russia, Thailand, and some other countries as MI 9.

The device has been rendered with the "MI 9" inscription in the retail box and there is no doubt that the renderer is similar to the RMMI K20 series. The retail box also shows that the device will come in black and will probably have 6GB of RAM and 64 GB storage, perhaps at the basement.

A removable screen guard, which provides the key space to include a Calcom snapdragon 730 processor that usually connects to the Siaomi phones. The device has a 6.39-inch FHD + AMOLED display with an on-screen fingerprint sensor. There is a 48 MP AI Triple Camera and 20 MP Pop-Up Celtic Shooters. The MI 9 also crashes ships with a 4000 mAh battery and an 18W fast charger under its Hood.

Not saying, "Any other name will smell like a rose sweet". Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are awesome models. So, the MI9 will probably not be frustrated unless Siyomi makes an extra price on the phone. We hope Xiaomi launches the device very soon.

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will be updated on Android Q; Fnatic mode, RAM boost and more coming

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are the latest devices updated on Android devices. This update is the third major OS update for both phones. Technically, they only got two Android OSs that got three major OS updates. Tomorrow, OnePlus One Plus Confirmed 5 and OnePlus 5T Total three operating system updates will receive.

OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T were announced in 2017, although a few months left. Both phones run Android negate outside the box and then they are updated on Android Orao and Android pie. Now, Vanplus has announced that they will get an update for Android. The announcement was made in the forum post, which lists the software features of the OnePlus 7 series on older OnePlus devices.

The post has published that the Vanplus 5 series and the Vanplus 6 series will receive quick answers in Fanatic mode, Jane mode and screen recorder (already available through Side logging), Landscape, DC Dimming, and RAM boost. OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T also added Android Q then join the Plus Plus. However, there is no ETA yet.

There is a Now Playing feature that automatically recognizes a song playing in the background and will show you its title and artist under the screen. We tried this with the popular English and Hindi tracks and it worked well in most cases, though it did not recognize some new Bollywood tracks and failed where there was too much background thunder. Overall, it seems to be an excellent feature, but it is not replaced for dedicated applications like Shazam or SoundHound, especially when dealing with popular tracks.
At the top of the home screen, there is a new 'at-a-glance' area that gives you time, weather and other details like upcoming appointments from your calendar.

 It cannot be removed from the home screen. So far, information is showing only from your Google Calendar app and traffic updates, but Google will link it to more apps in the coming months. The Quick Search bar has been moved downward, where it is closer to your organs. Homescreen keeps it as you swipe across, and both cannot be removed. When we started it,

Google Assistant works as expected, and the right-handed card takes you to Google Now screen with relevant news relevant to the size of the card. Includes Google Advanced Suite, Plus Allo and Duo. Currently, this feature can be found in the Photos app in pixel 2 and Google pixel 2 XL,
But it will be added to the camera application and to the assistant within the coming month. For a beta product, it works decently well. When you are browsing through your photos, you will notice the lens icon just before the delete icon. This tapping will bring a small window where the lens will show its best guess in the picture.
